Abstract
By the rapid growth of industry and the excessive concentration of population in large cities, traffic noise as well as air and water polution is being serious problems to citizen¢¥s life mentally and physically.
In order to know the present condition of traffic noise in Seoul, we selected 20 example sites along the main streets and checked their sound levels three times a day for two months.
The survey shows that the present sound level of most sites selected exceeds the limit of tolerance.
It also shows a tendency of increasing sound level and traffic volume.
